A little backstory.
Pamela Cundell was an English character actress best remembered as Mrs Fox in the BBC comedy Dad's Army. Trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, she began on stage and in summer shows as a comic before moving into television in 1957, working alongside comedians such as Frankie Howerd and Benny Hill.
On The Benny Hill Show she appeared in both the BBC and Thames eras, including the 1972 closing chase Escaped Convict, in which she plays the housewife whose washing line supplies the runaway's disguise.
